Post:ballet is hosting an audition for Company Dancers for future Seasons and special projects.
On Friday, January 5, 2024, Post:ballet is hosting a by-invitation audition for dancers who may be interested in working with Post for future Seasons or special projects. Post does not currently have any open positions for the 2023-24 Season or the 2024-25 Season. While this is not an audition for a position for immediate employment, Post:ballet would like to connect with dancers who are interested in working with the company in the future. Post frequently has opportunities arise mid-season for dancers and we are looking to expand our roster of interested dancers who may be available into the future.
About Post
Post:ballet (Post), the professional company of the non-profit school Berkeley Ballet Theater (BBT) has a mission to push dancers and collaborators to vigorously pursue their curiosity, to pull diverse communities together through shared experiences, and to play with the art form to create works reflective of our dynamically changing world. Robin Dekkers founded Post as a space to create original multidisciplinary collaborations that celebrate individuality and cultivate connection. Using the language of ballet as a means, but not an end to artistic expression, Post redefines the art form by expanding ballet’s accessibility and addressing its prejudices. In both its creative process and productions, Post integrates a diversity of artists and organizations, and employs collective working methods, to generate art of the highest caliber that reflects the world we live in today and the future we want to create for one another.
Post employs 5 - 10 dancers each Season (funding and project dependent). During the 2023-24 Season, Post is a team of nine dancers and one apprentice. The Season typically ranges from September through April, with rehearsals one to three days weekly.

Audition includes: Ballet Class with Robin Dekkers, Repertoire with Robin Dekkers, Repertoire with Moscelyne ParkeHarrison and Post:ballet, Movement generation / choreography with Moscelyne ParkeHarrison.
